Home Ownership CenterHome Ownership Center

This past April, the Emerging Markets Homeownership Initiative became a program of the Minnesota Home Ownership Center. The Center is able to leverage its relationships across multiple stakeholder groups to improve homeownership opportunities for emerging market groups. Previously, EMHI operated as a stand-alone organization with one staff member and advisory committees. Governor Pawlenty and organizations such as Minnesota Housing, Fannie Mae and the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis founded the Emerging Markets Home Ownership Initiative in 2004. The initiative’s business plan and mission called for a reduction in the state’s homeownership gap by 2010.
