Brooke rejoins the Center in newly created position after a previous stint as Program Director.
Hello there. My name is Brooke Walker and after a six year hiatus, I am rejoining the Center’s team as the Director of Strategic Initiatives. I am thrilled to be back and have missed working in the realm of homeownership. In my prior role at the Center I supported homebuyer education, training and certification and the development of Framework®. In this new role I will be leading directives born out of the strategic plan.
As a licensed Social Worker, I have happily spent the majority of my career in the nonprofit sector. Most recently I worked at a local Community Action Agency implementing several initiatives focused on improving the economic stability of low-income communities. Beyond this and my time at the Center, I’ve worked in supportive housing, including the development side of the equation, program design, evaluation and grants management.
On a personal note, I live in the metro area. My daughter recently completed her graduate program and my son will start middle school in the fall. During the warmer months I spend my time in the garden and during the winter, binging my favorite shows. I look forward to meeting and reconnecting with everyone!
