Kim brings to the Center a wealth of experience in the execution of equitable homeownership initiatives.

Hi! My name is Kimberly (Kim) Smith-Moore. I recently joined the Center as Senior Director of Homeownership Programs, and I couldn’t be more excited at this opportunity to part of the movement to make a difference and address the homeownership disparities that have plagued our state for many years. In my new role at the Center, I’ll be leading the advance of new program models to better empower consumers, and helping to transform traditional industry practices to better impact the homeownership gap.

I’ve spent the majority of my career thus far in corporate America, most recently leading homeownership strategy nationally with the Wells Fargo Housing Affordability Philanthropy team. Most notably, I managed the NeighborhoodLIFT program, which provided down payment assistance and helped to create more than 25,000 new low- to moderate-income homeowners. In addition, I was instrumental in the creation and development of the WORTH (Wealth Opportunities Restored Through Homeownership) initiative that launched in 2021. The WORTH program is working to create at least 40,000 new BIPOC homeowners nationally by 2025.

I began my career as a real estate agent with Edina Realty, focused on empowering low- to moderate-income communities of color and providing tools and resources to enable successful homeownership. I eventually transitioned to mortgage banking, holding several positions over the years in customer service, operations and project/program management.

I was born, raised and live in the Twin Cities metro. I’m married with two sons, both of whom work in the public school system. I attended the University of Minnesota and Metro State University, receiving my B.A. in Project Management. In my spare time, I help advise several local nonprofit organizations along with mentoring intercity high school girls.

I’m excited about this opportunity to work for the Center and to provide potential homeowners with the tools and resources to make their dream of homeownership a reality.
