This month on the Welcome Home blog, we’re turning the reigns over to three of our newest staffers so you can learn a little more about them. This week, meet Tasha Merritt, the Center’s Training and Support Manager.

Greetings! My name is Tasha Merritt, and I joined the Minnesota Homeownership Center in September of 2018. Along with Colin Thompson, I am a member of the Center’s Program Team. In my role as Training and Member Support Manager, I manage Advisor Certification, Continuing Education Trainings, Annual Recertification, Curriculum and Program Development, Network Support and Consumer Resources.

I bring with me a wealth of homeownership education knowledge and experience which I am happy to use supporting our statewide network of housing counseling organizations. I’ve worked in the housing industry for more than twenty-two years in both the public and private sectors. Previous to the Center, I worked at a Homeownership Advisors Network organization for nine years in staff positions, and as a member of the Board of Directors for four years. My staff roles included five years as Homeownership Center Manager, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Education and Counseling department. I also spent four years providing direct homeownership education services. In addition have an extensive background in Real Estate.

I hope to visit most network organizations in person over the next year or so. I look forward to getting to know more about you, your organizations, and hearing about the impactful work you do every day to help create and maintain successful homeownership throughout Minnesota. Your work produces vibrant neighborhoods and well-informed homeowners by creating awareness and access to critical education and counseling services. I believe in the work you do!
